Panzer IA : Operation Sealion and more
Between painting more Arab and Israeli tanks (they just need basing now) and a couple of games I finished off this little chap. I think he came in a mail order where I needed to spend a little more to get free postage. They caught me again !! Anyway it’s a Warlord model and very pleasant to put together and paint. He landed on the beaches too late for the Battle of Dymchurch (yesterday) but will no doubt see action soonπ

ReplyDeleteThanks Steve I try and mix colours up to give variety....as for the size I things it was just a dinky tank. Without the speed it is effectively a universal carrier.

ReplyDeleteHave to say that I always dismissed the Pz1 when I was a lot younger, but now with experience and age I've come to quiet like the little tank.
Thanks Roy I think effectively it is a Bren Gun carrier ....a bit slower and less flexible but I guess when it first came out it was the pinnacle of infantry support π

ReplyDeleteI think the B model looked better with the extra road wheel more balanced and its one of my favourite looking tank'ettes'.
Thanks Captain π the colour is made up and really just to give some variety on the table. It is certainly small but no doubt when it first came out it was king of the battlefield ?
DeleteNice tank, the early war tanks are really characterful, I don't think it was ever king of the battlefield! As I remember it ,it was only really envisioned as a training tank but was pressed into service, lovely painting too.
